Saturdays NYC

November 29, 2009 @ 9:53 pm

I stumbled into a lovely little place today called Saturdays located at 31 Crosby Street in Manhattan. Saturdays is a surf shop and cafe all rolled into one with a fantastically decorated interior and a very chill atmosphere. As soon as you enter the place, you are greeted by a barista who is happy to serve a cup of coffee to you. You can sip your coffee and walk around the store to buy surf and surf-related apparel and accessories or just browse through their collection of great photo books. If you just want to sip on your coffee, you can do so in their courtyard located behind the store which is spacious enough for you and a few friends. Certainly a nice place to visit if you haven’t been already.

Behind the scenes at CXXVI

October 28, 2009 @ 2:48 am

Limited Hype has a nice little behind-the-scenes look at clothing and design company CXXVI (“OneTwentySix“) owned by Matt Gorton and Jon Contino.

You may remember that I posted something briefly about CXXVI earlier this month and now it’s cool to see what they’re all about and how they hand-make just about everything in their line.

Seriously? Is this what it means to be in the urban apparel scene nowadays? These cereal T-shirts from Swagger are hideous.

Destine – In Your Arms music video from greg ephraim on Vimeo.

Posting this music video by Destine because it’s a catchy song. And oh, because girls always take their clothes off at the laundromat. Always. Pretty much the most realistic music video I’ve ever seen.

Swagger 2008 Autumn Winter Collection

The Swagger 2008 Autumn collection online store is one of the coolest I’ve ever seen of any fashion label. While it may not be the quickest way to show the entire line, it surely is a fun way to browse the collection. You basically are an 8-bit game character jumping around to different “levels” where different categories of clothing are up for grabs. Neat!

Thanks Yelena for showing this to me.
