This photo is awesome.

As far as I know, nobody was seriously injured in this crash (although some did go to the hospital for other reasons). See more of Jesse’s photos of the big crash here.

On May 17th, the Hongqi Road of Zhuzhou City in Hunan province collapsed onto several vehicles below killing up to 4 people. There’s rumor going around that the number of dead is actually much higher because the accident happened at rush hour and there are buildings beneath the roadway that were used for public housing (meaning, lots of people live there).

Staircase collapses at 5 Pointz

5-pointz-collapse

An exterior staircase at Long Island City’s famed 5 Pointz building collapsed yesterday as a woman was walking over it. The building is well-known because of the extensive graffiti covering just about every square inch of the building (inside and out).

I’ve walked up those stairs a couple of times before and I never in a million years would think that they’d be unstable. Maybe the fluctuating weather is to blame?

NY1 says the building has been temporarily closed until further inspection.

There were 2328 domino pieces in all, and the entire collapse took 47 seconds. Mesmerizing!
