Pentax K-x Kore Ja Nai camera

October 23, 2009 @ 1:08 am

I already knew the Pentax K-x digital SLR was going to come in rainbow colors, but I had no idea that Pentax had in mind to release the K-x in the colors of Japan’s robot toy, Kore Ja Nai (I’m not even going to pretend I knew what Kore Ja Nai was before writing this post…apparently it’s a big thing in Japan).

Anyway, Pentax is making only 100 of these colorful versions and all of them will go on sale starting November. Peep the gallery below.

111VOX is selling this nice T-shirt that highlights the 3 different kinds of taxi cabs you will encounter as you go from one island to the next in Hong Kong. Each cab is dedicated to one island and riding one color into another’s territory isn’t allowed. I want it: $27 USD.

Is that blue or is that green?

Have a look at this spiral of colors above. Do you see the green and blue spirals going toward the center? Well, what you see as green and blue is actually the same exact color (Discover Magazine has RGB proof). The visual trick here occurs because our brains “see” colors based upon the colors that surround it. In this case the spiral is separated by magenta and orange stripes and the magenta stripes don’t actually go into the green spiral and the orange stripes don’t actually go into the “blue” spiral. It is because of the juxtaposing colors that our brain gets a bit confused as to what color is truly there.

If you don’t see it in the image above, Richard Wiseman has posted an alternate version of the same optical illusion where you can better differentiate the magenta, orange, and green lines (note that the blue lines here are actually the same color as the green ones).
