Joel Johnson won a bid for “Wally Wood’s 22 Panels That Always Work!!” and has provided hi-res scans of the panels for the benefit of those on the internet. You might recognize some of the panels from your favorite newspaper comics…

Thanks Andy!

Chris is right, Tom Gauld’s Flickr photostream really is a stream of illustrations and comics. And I can’t get enough of it! This one posted above is #72 (”Short Story”), but there are tons more on his Flickr as well as on Cabanon Press.

I suggest going through all 53 comics simply because there’s not one that I don’t think is absolutely brilliant.

And the Obama money-milking machines continues to roll on through…

Believe it or not, Marvel Comics is commemorating the historic inauguration of Barack Obama by releasing an all-new Marvel comic called “Spidey Meets The President!”.

According to Marvel, this is what the issue will be about:

Written by Zeb Wells with art by Todd Nauck and Frank D’Armata, the story takes place in Washington, D.C. on Inauguration Day and finds one of Spider-Man’s oldest foes attempting to thwart the swearing in ceremony of the 44th President of the United States.

This particular issue will go on sale beginning January 14, 2009 for only $3.99. And you can pretty much bet that it’ll be sold out simply because it has Barack Obama in it. Expect it to fetch hefty sums on eBay…
