Core77 posted about the AeroTech Evolution hard-shell bike case today which looks like a pretty great thing to have if you’re constantly flying or traveling with your bicycle in tow.
The AeroTech Evolution can fit a disassembled bicycle very neatly in its padded interior with independent compartments for wheels and bike parts.
Canon announced a bunch of new compact PowerShot digital cameras today, and one of them is this PowerShot SD940 IS which I think fits the digital ELPH standard the best — it’s ultra-compact, small, and feature-packed. Sure, there are a couple of PowerShot cameras that best it, but none do it so elegantly.
The SD940 IS has a 12.1MP sensor, a 28mm wide zoom lens, 4x optical zoom, 720p HD video mode, and a 2.7″ LCD screen. The camera comes in metallic blue, silver, brown, and black and will sell starting September for about $300 (MSRP, so expect it for cheaper online).
And not surprisingly, the bicycle design has earned Dominic a chance at winning the James Dyson Award for innovation (which translates to lots of fame and a prize of over $14,000 USD.

Nikon is doing something cool here with their brand-new Coolpix S1000pj camera. It’s a 12MP camera with a 5x zoom and a nifty little projector on the front that is capable of producing a 40-inch picture at a 6 feet range. I can only assume that this would greatly reduce battery life when used extensively, but I very much like the idea of an on-board projector especially when a group of people are all trying to clamor around a small camera to see the latest group shot.
My only concern is whether or not the projector justifies its $429 price point. Kind of expensive for a pocket camera. Anyway, it looks like we’ll only have to wait a month to start seeing this camera in people’s hands (available September).
AgfaPhoto’s latest DC-600uw waterproof and rugged camera is severely handicapped in the looks department and it doesn’t even have an impressive feature set to make up for it . In fact, this camera is pretty average all around and the way it presents itself makes me think that it’s nothing more than a toy I can find at Yung Kee — in the water toys section. Seriously, this thing looks like it would squirt water as a trick.
