Australian teen throws a huge party, may be fined $20,000

This post was originally just going to be part of a Leftovers entry, but Flo just sent me the news video interview of the kid on Australian TV and I couldn’t resist holding this for any longer.
Corey Delaney, a 16 year-old teenager from Melbourne, Victoria, is the main culprit behind the “best party ever“. The party attracted over 500 young people who ended up throwing bottles and “other missiles” at the police when they showed up to investigate a noise disturbance.
The young and rowdy crowd was too much for the local police to handle and the officers had to back away. Damage from the kids is estimated at $20,000. Now, Corey Delaney is refusing to go home and face his parents, who understandably, may want to kill him.
