BattleZone Bible: the Word protected in aluminum casing

November 9, 2008 @ 10:54 pm

As I was writing the entry for the Bible I recently received as a gift from my brother, I was having a look at the other Bibles available from Crossway and I saw this BattleZone Bible available for $29.99. The Bible is fully encased in a brushed-aluminum casing ensuring that the contents are well protected from the elements and any other stupidity that it may encounter.

If you don’t like the brushed aluminum look above, you can buy the BattleZone weathered metal Bible from Amazon for cheaper and get that gone-through-spiritial-battle look. Cheesy, but if that’s cool to you, then cool.

Crossway Deluxe Compact Bible

Norman gave me a new Bible on Friday. It has a very nice leather-bound cover that’s super-soft to the touch. The burgandy color is something I’d expect to fade well over time into a beautiful brownish-tan color (hopefully I use it enough for it to do that).

The thing I love most about it is that it doesn’t say “HOLY BIBLE” all over the front. It’s not like people won’t know it’s a Bible if it doesn’t have the name printed it bold letters across the cover. Instead, the title is imprinted into the spine along with the translation type and publisher.

Bible-lover or not, you have to admit that this is a well-designed Bible.
