Underground Signs will create a custom NYC Subway sign for you

November 12, 2009 @ 2:06 am

If you ever wanted the station sign from a local Subway station in NYC or wanted a custom NYC Subway sign that said something unique, then Underground Signs is a good place to get either one. Underground Signs will recreate just about any current MTA Subway sign with letters or make a custom sign for you with the same look for a premium fee. Each sign is authentic metal construction and painted black with white letters in the exact same typeface used in the NYC Subway system.

The signs start at $99 and go up depending on how big and complicated your sign gets.

Wow, I believe this is the first time I’ve ever seen a cake fashioned to look like a New York City MTA Subway car (an F train, too!). It’s not perfect, but it is kind of neat I think, so kudos to Dahlia’s Cakes for putting this together.

Watching this video has made me realize two things: 1) that I know absolutely nothing about cars; and 2) that this car is absolutely gorgeous.

Performa Brakeless Bike by Bertelli

October 17, 2009 @ 11:22 am

I just came across the Bertelli bicycle website and I recognized a few of the bikes from my adventures across the net. It turns out that many of the beautiful bikes I’ve been eyeing have been made by Bertelli but I wouldn’t have known that had I not come to this site because Bertelli Bikes does not brand their bicycles. In fact, I love how Bertelli jots down a list of Likes and Don’t Likes to get you up to date about what sort of bikes you should expect from the company.

Francesco, the owner of Bertelli (based in NYC), finishes, builds, and assembles each bike by hand. And the awesome thing is that he rides the bike around once it is finished to make sure that it is something he would be proud of giving away to a customer. If you’re interested in purchasing a bike from Bertelli, the starting price for a complete bike is $1500.

Check out some images of the Performa Brakeless Bike built by Bertelli Bikes below.

Custom pink Xbox 360 controller

Flickr user 4apples modified an Xbox 360 controller just for his girlfriend as a special gift. The photos of the custom pink paint job look pretty awesome and I actually wouldn’t mind if Xbox 360 controllers came in colors like this (or more varieties of colors). [via]
