Cyclist hands out high-fives to people hailing cabs

September 28, 2009 @ 1:06 am

Nathaniel Kassel bikes around the city and gives high-fives to people who are hailing cabs. Sometimes people find it funny, and other times they look like they want to kill him.

Beating a pedestrian with a U-lock

July 21, 2009 @ 5:48 pm

As Prolly says, this is very unnecessary. I mean, even if the pedestrian was wrong in harassing you on your bike, you don’t go beating him with your friggin’ U-lock. You’re on a bike. Just ride away. Shame on you, cyclist. I hope somebody finds you and turns you in.

Biking in an empty hydroelectric power station

This is one of the craziest set of photos I’ve ever come across! Two lucky guys had the opportunity to ride their bikes in an empty hydroelectric power station before it was filled with water. According to one of the riders, the surface of the power station is very smooth and the entire power station is huge! This is no doubt one of the most awesome pseudo-velodromes ever. Epic!

You have to see the rest of the pictures — they’re really impressive! I so wish I could have been there to do the same.

Cyclist crashes into a car during a race

June 28, 2009 @ 1:02 am

And it’s not just a small crash either. The cyclist does some considerable damage to the back end of the car. And thankfully, it looks like the cyclist is ok. But damn, that is some crazy speed and stoppage there. I wouldn’t want that to ever happen to me.

Brenton Salo’s photos of cyclists in Portland, Oregon really make me want to live there. I always hear that Portland is one of the greatest places for cyclists to live because of the infrastructure of the city itself and I’m really down to try it out. Just gotta get myself over there again. It’s been a while… [via]

RealRyder ABF8: ride and lean like a real cyclist

April 9, 2009 @ 9:09 pm

Crave links to this neat stationary bike from RealRyder that allows for the cyclist to lean in and out as if he/she were riding an actual bike on the road. Most stationary bikes I’ve seen don’t have this feature and thus don’t quite imitate the feel of actually riding the bike outside.

The RealRyder ABF8 costs $2000 which personally is a lot more than I’d like for a bike that goes absolutely nowhere.
