I’ve seen plenty of dinosaur figures but none have been nearly as detailed or as cool as the Dinosaur Collection from Papo. Most of the dinosaur figures in this collection have moving mouth parts which look amazing because each dinosaur is hand-painted to look like the real deal!
And now that I own the Tyrannosaurus Rex, it makes me really want to get the Velociraptor too! These are very fun! :)
The new toys (6 in all, shown above), are the closest representations of the toys from the movie that any toy maker has made so far. The collection will be called “The Toy Story Collection” and consist of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bucket O Soldiers, Aliens, and Rex, and R/C. The toys in this collection are all proportional to each other and you can get a sense of how large they are by knowing that Buzz Lightyear is 12″ tall and Rex is approximately 13″ tall.
I just saw a promo for History Channel’s Predator X (premiering March 29 @ 8PM EST) and was reminded of the image of the dinosaur that Clarence posted earlier this week.
The newly discovered dinosaur was unearthed in June 2008 during a two-week expedition led by Jørn Hurum of the Natural History Museum at the University of Oslo. According to their research, Predator X “had a head twice the size of Tyrannosaurus rex and its bite had four times the force, at around 15,000 kilograms (33,000 pounds) over the whole jaw. Its teeth were each around 30 centimeters (1 foot) long”.
