I linked to Tom Coates’ gallery of photos from Sydney’s recent dust storm earlier this week and totally missed the unsettling image of his Canon 5D covered in dust after he had shot with it all morning. That certainly can’t be fun to clean.

Mezza’s photo of the Sydney dust storm from within a laundry room is one of the more interesting shots I’ve seen of the event so far. [via]

Do you see it? In the distance there is the Sydney Opera House, covered in the thick dust storm that I linked pictures of previously.
The Big Picture has a great selection of photos from September 23, 2009.

Tom Coates has put together this gallery of incredible dust storm photos from Sydney. The city was covered by an orange glow caused by a rare dust storm on the morning of September 23, 2009. There are still many photos going up on Flickr, but for now, you can check out this gallery.

This daring duo drove straight into a rolling dust storm in New South Wales on December 21, 2007. I’ve never seen a dust storm in person, but from what it looks like in this video, dust storms are probably best avoided if possible. As you can see, daylight turns into complete darkness as the car slams straight into the wall of dust. You can barely see the headlights from the car and visibility is more or less zero once the blackness settles in. [via]
Certainly a very scary situation to be in!
