This awesome alarm clock was one of the entries in 102.1 Edge’s World’s Biggest contest back in 2007. The alarm clock doesn’t really use any sound or loud noises, but instead it makes use of a large mounted air cylinder at the head of the bed and a valve controlled by a computer to literally shake somebody out of bed. Edge has an interesting graphical look at the evolution of the creation of the Sony PlayStation logo.
The Edge article actually talks a lot more about the creation of Sony’s game console itself rather than just the logo, so if you care to read about the feud between Nintendo and Sony and the politics that caused Sony to create the PlayStation, then do so here.

As painful as this looks, I know that cats don’t get seriously hurt from this type of stuff. Because I know this, this video is very funny.
