Tangrams used to illustrate how America learns

October 4, 2009 @ 1:31 pm

Using data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), FlowingPrints has created 3 original poster prints that give a quick outline of various educational statistics in the United States. The print shown above (click it to view larger) is the third in the set and it takes a look at the way America learns by incorporating tangram puzzles into the design of the poster.

Each poster is $20, but you can purchase the entire set of 3 for $40.

Some have been looking forward to this day for 4 years. Others, like me, have been looking forward to being done with school altogether since age 5. So finally, after 17 years of non-stop formal education, I am done! The only thing left now is the gallery opening (and closing) and graduation. Yippee!

Quilt cover and pillow cases that look like cardboard boxes

September 26, 2008 @ 12:02 am

I really love this quilt cover and pillow case set that’s made to look like a folded cardboard box. The idea behind the sheets come from The Le Clochard Project by SZN, which hopes to help young homeless people in the Netherlands. A large portion of the proceeds from the sale of the quilt cover and the pillow cases goes towards helping young folks in the Netherlands find work or continue education.

The quilt cover comes in several sizes in a price range from about $73 to $117. A set of two pillow cases costs about $22.
