French photographer Eric Tabuchi has taken photographs of abandoned gas stations in tribute to Ed Ruscha’s 1963 photo book, Twentysix Gasoline Stations. Eric’s photos were taken between 2002 and 2008 and also come in a series of 26 photographs, each printed on a slightly oversized postcard.
I have an inclination toward just about anything abandoned and these gas station photos from Eric Tabuchi are no exception. There’s just something so interesting about a place that somebody left to decay. These gas stations are like relics, slowly holding as their surroundings change and disregard their existence. Check out all of the photos here.
