This MAN truck with a trailer attached to it can be seen in this video doing a demonstration of its Electronic Stability Program on an ice surface. The truck’s ESP figures out which direction the truck is sliding and adjusts the spin of individual tires so that the truck does not lose control.
However, as you can see in this video, even the best ESP computers cannot assist with a truck driver who doesn’t slow down on icy roads. Of course, this is a test of extreme conditions, so in that respect, I guess MAN did pretty well here.
