300,000 birds fly in formation

Title says it all (I just wish there was a bit more information — ie: what type of bird, where this was filmed, how they estimated that number, etc.).

Thanks Elin!

Simon’s Cat in “Fly Guy”

August 4, 2009 @ 12:29 am

Simon Tofield’s cat videos never cease to amaze me and this new one called “Fly Guy” is precisely how my cats act when they see a mosquito in my room or a pigeon sitting on my window ledge.

PETA wishes President Obama hadn’t killed a fly

June 18, 2009 @ 12:03 pm

fly

True story: PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wishes that President Obama did not kill a fly during an interview on CNBC. So to promote a more humane treatment of flies, PETA sent President Obama a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher, a device that traps flies so that you can release them — alive — back into the “wild”.

How do PETA members live with themselves???

If you missed the video of President Obama killing the fly, you can watch it here.

Thanks Yun!

Flying over the San Tan Mountains in Arizona

April 2, 2009 @ 11:19 am

Gotta Find a Way from PhotoShip One on Vimeo.

PhotoShip One rigged one of their camera setups to a small airplane in Arizona and did a quick fly-by of the surrounding area. The video above is the imagery captured on video and it is gorgeous! On top of that, it’s available for viewing in HD on Vimeo so if you’ve always wanted to fly, then here’s a good way to simulate that feeling.

Lady bug taking off @ 7000 fps

October 27, 2008 @ 6:01 pm

This video is just incredible because I think of how quickly a lady bug takes off and then I realize that this video captures the same action but at a frame rate so fast that it takes 1 minute and 45 seconds just to show it.

Just amazing how much technology can change the way we view things.
