It’s a combination of several 2channel / Nicovideo memes. The ones I recognize:
Overall, the thing is a parody of (a parody of, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8FfUqZSWJw) the racing scenes from the racing anime Initial D, which all look kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv020dZXOrY. There is also a “Gutter run” in there, which is kind of the main characters signature move, where he hooks his wheels into the gutter to be able to go around the curve faster.
The dudes on the bike are from a gay wrestling porn movie. It’s popular on nicovideo and has sparked things like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9PFoBNuNMw (NSFW, duh.)
The person driving the Steamroller is Kagamine Rin, a Vocaloid personification. She and Len are somehow associated with steamrollers now, presumably because both are yellow.
The background music is also a pretty distorted Vocaloid song, see that first youtube link up there.
And with that, I hope this doesn’t ruin the rest of your weekend… [via]
I’m a big fan of Sacha Baron Cohen’s comedy work (including his 2006 film Borat) and I simply cannot wait for his new film Bruno to come out later this year. First Showing just posted the trailer for the film and I’ve embedded it above for you all to enjoy (or not).
For those who don’t know, Bruno is the fictional gay Austrian television host played by Sacha Baron Cohen who first appeared on Da Ali G Show and has since become one of the more famous characters played by Cohen. As you can imagine, Bruno’s antics are way over the top and should prove to be quite humorous on the big screen.
The audio and video aren’t quite in sync, but that doesn’t matter. What you really want to check out are the dance moves put out by these young Filipino boys.
How old do you think these kids are? Less than 10???
Have I been living under a rock or something? This video mashup has over 5 million views and this is the first time I’m seeing it! [via]
The video is essentially the story of Doc and Marty McFly edited in such a way that the two become sort of lovers rather than friends. I’ll never watch Back To The Future again without thinking of Brokeback Mountain now. Great. Thanks.
To put them in perspective, I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it?”
To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.
That’s just hilarious and very fitting of Sedaris’ style of writing. Also, the gay unicorn cartoon that’s connected with the story is funny.
