I think I’ve only ever played one Godzilla game (the original NES version) and after watching this video, I’m sorta glad I never bothered with any of the others. Whew!
Remote-controlled Mechagodzilla toy
October 20, 2008 @ 5:09 pm

I’ve posted about my fascination with Mechagodzilla before, but this new remote controlled Mechagodzilla 20″ toy takes the cake. First of all, this thing is 20″. The size alone truly makes this R/C toy worth getting. But on top of the size are the many movements that mimic the 1974 film, Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, such as 360-degree head spinning, rotating hands, light-up toes and fingers, and the center LED panel…thing.
Unfortunately for me, this R/C toy is priced at $830. That’s about $800 more than I’d be willing to pay. If this thing was life-sized, I’d pay $830 for it.
Thanks Norman!
King Shisa

If you’ve never watched Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (which I briefly mention in this post and this post), then you won’t really understand the image above.
For those who are curious, King Shisa (or sometimes known as King Caesar, King Seesar, or King Seeser) is the beast that helps Godzilla win against Mechagodzilla. ROAR! Hahahahaha.
Here’s the Japanese trailer for Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
My recent obsession with all things Godzilla is getting to me, so much so that I’m beginning to make stupid posts like this one simply just to talk about Godzilla. I want a Godzilla toy.
Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla DVD

This video only has the English subtitles, and doesn’t include the awesome English-dubbed voice-overs that I grew up with.
There are only a handful of movies I can recall that bring back vivid memories of my childhood in front of the wood-encased TV that we used to own. One of those movies is Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla.
We owned a VHS copy of the film and every once in a while, when there was nothing to do, I would pop the tape into the VCR and just sit there and watch the film. I haven’t watched the film in ages mainly because I have no idea where that VHS tape went, but I was doing some random search today on Godzilla and I found out that the original Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla film has been released on DVD. AWESOME!

I am so tempted to buy this DVD just so I can watch the film (in all of its cheesy-ness) once again. It’s only $15 on Amazon.com (a bit steep for a DVD with no apparent extras). For now, I’ll settle with the video in this post and I’ll just keep watch over the DVD on my Amazon.com wishlist.
PS: I would like a car horn that sounds like Godzilla’s scream. That would be HOT.
