Ways to reduce your water footprint

GOOD delivers yet another strikingly clean infographic on how to reduce your water footprint by changing your diet and lifestyle. The chart is composed of both direct water usage (how much water you use) and virtual water usage (how much water was used to make the thing you’re using).

Apparently, it takes a whole lot of water to raise a cow big enough to provide you with at least one pound of beef. I wonder if this water usage is divided by the total amount of beef that a cow can be used for, or if this one pound of beef represents an entire cow. In any case, that burger is looking really evil next to that bowl of salad once the water usage is measured up.

Mos Def says “Your an American”

GOOD Magazine has an on-going video project called “If I Were President” that asks celebrities and community leaders what they would do if they were given the most important job in the United States.

One of the videos in the series features actor and rapper Mos Def outlining some of his wishes. In one line, he says “Why not? Your an American”.

Now, I don’t know who makes these videos, but I do wonder if GOOD even takes a look at these before they post it. And if they do, what this says about their editorial process if they let something as silly as this pass by. I’m not saying I’m perfect, but “your” and “you’re” is easy enough to figure out.
