If you read GOOD magazine at all, you probably saw the wonderful papercraft cover they used for their first GOOD 100 issue.
The GOOD 100 issue includes 100 different ways you can get inspired, with lots of artwork from creative designers in the industry.
And to top it all off, GOOD has given everyone a look at how they created the cool magazine cover which was shot by Will Etling with model styling by Brian Rea.

GOOD has this great infographic of jobless rates in major US cities, comparing unemployment numbers in 2008 with unemployment numbers in 2009. As one would assume based upon the state of the economy in the US, unemployment rates are pretty high in major cities. It’s interesting though to see that unemployment isn’t hitting the middle US as hard. I wonder why.

Simon has a pair of these Koss PortaPro Headphones
and I was so impressed with the quality and clarity of their sound that I went ahead and bought myself a pair as well. I understand that these aren’t the look that everybody is going for, but I discarded the fact that they don’t look all too “modern” after I heard the sound that comes out of them. In a word, the sound is wonderful!
Plus, it doesn’t hurt that they’re only $32 on Amazon.com.
Not a bad investment at all, even if you never do wear them outside. Koss PortaPro Headphones

GOOD has some nice photos of traffic in Los Angeles from photographer Benny Chan who took the photos over the course of several years in helicopter trips over the city. The nice thing is that GOOD is offering pretty large versions of each picture so that you can see detail in full.

I’m sorry but this is one of the worst infographics that GOOD Magazine has ever published. It attempts to explain the current public transportation crisis in the United States using the iconic subway map architecture as a model. The infographic is separated into 3 main sections: job losses, service cuts, and fare hikes. And instead of telling the viewer important information like how many jobs were lost or how much money was cut or how much fares rose, the infographic simply states that these events happened to various systems in the US. Big whoop. Of course they happened in the US, otherwise you wouldn’t be making a chart about it would you?
In the end, all this graph really tells you is how many people ride various transportation systems in the US (which honestly, I think could be handled better than using fat lines and skinny lines — especially if the numbers are already stated in numerical form).
Who approved this colorful mess?

Forty-seven-year-old Susan Boyle surprised the judges on Britain’s Got Talent when she strutted onto stage as one of the oldest contestants ever to grace the show’s stage.
Little did the judges know that they would soon be surprised by Susan again as she sings one of the best renditions of a Les Miserables tune they have ever heard. Proof that looks can be deceiving! The video has embedding disabled (WHY?!?!?!?!?!), so you can watch it here.
