What are college grads doing these days?

According to City Room, lots of college graduates are passing the rough economic times altogether by enrolling in graduate school.

I know the feeling pretty well given the fact that I’ve been unemployed since graduating back in May 2009 with no clear direction of where I’m headed post-graduation. The economy seems to be affecting all industries (not just mine) as many of my friends with various degrees have been out of luck in finding a job as well. The good news is that things seem to be picking up, but still, it’s going to be hard for myself and others to get passed the hiring freeze that many companies seem to be stuck in as they readjust to smaller budgets and smaller staff. I’m keeping my head up though despite lower-than-normal wages and the constant stream of demoralizing family comments that come my way.

This is clever, and yet it is sad to see that graduates need to go to these extremes. Doesn’t make me feel too great. :(
