UsingMac discovered a new way to show the List View in Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) by using a simple Terminal command. If you type in the following command into Terminal, your folder List Views in your dock will become a slightly more refined vertical list.
defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool YES && killall Dock
To disable and go back to the default/original List View, just type the line below into Terminal.
defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool NO && killall Dock

Here in the State of New York, there are only about 8 hours until the polls open for voting on Election Day (according to NYS Board of Elections, polls open at 6AM and close at 9PM), but some parts of the country have been voting for at least a week now.
What that means is that in less than a day, we’ll probably have a pretty good idea of who is going to lead the country for the next 4 years. While most polls show Obama in the lead over McCain, it’s really not responsible for me to assume a winner between the two since the race is still considerably close.
Anyway, if you’re able to vote, it may be a good idea to get yourself familiarized with the state of polling procedures in your state. DVICE has put together a fancy map showing the different polling machines that are scattered across the US. The map shows the “hackability” of each voting machine and how careful you should be when voting. As expected, electronic voting machines are much more susceptible to attacks than antiquated lever-pulling machines, but regardless of that fact, you should be careful in making your choices tomorrow as the potential for voter-error is quite high as well (stupid people using stupid machines).
