This is what you get when you cross-breed two of Japan’s “cutest” exports — Domo kun and Helly Kitty. What you get is this white, big-mouthed monster known as Domo Kitty.
Domo Kitty is a one-of-a-kind doll created by David Faller and later auctioned and sold on eBay for charity. While there are no intentions of making any more Domo Kitty dolls, I think David should make some more and sell them to people like me who would be more than happy to buy one to give away as a gift. It’s a niche market, but I say it’s totally worth it.

Check out some more pictures of the actual Domo Kitty on Flickr. Thanks for this Yelena!

Bank of America just sent me this. Apparently, Hello Kitty wasn’t cutting it.

If the small pictures weren’t enough, here’s a video of the Hello Kitty hospital maternity ward that I posted earlier. Some Taiwanese people are just as crazy as Japanese people.
Thanks Flo!

At the Hau Sheng Hospital in Yuanlin in central Taiwan, Sanrio Co Ltd. (the parent company of Hello Kitty) has authorized the use of the Hello Kitty image to be plastered all over the hospital in order to help ease stress during pregnancy and delivery.
The rooms and 30 beds at the hospital are all emblazoned with the Hello Kitty image, creating a hospital that’s simply pink and white all over. Even the birth certificates of newborns have the image of Hello Kitty on them.
I guess whatever works to help ease the pain of childbirth…
