This post seems rather fitting considering the fact that I just posted about The United States of McDonald’s. Anyway, here are some examples of the clock made of McDonald’s foods that DDB (The Philippines) created which ended up increasing sales in the area by 13.9% vs the same period the previous year. The billboards were put along the roads to entice people to go eat McDonald’s no matter what time it is. Pretty, eh?
Stupid public transportation infographic
April 15, 2009 @ 1:46 am

I’m sorry but this is one of the worst infographics that GOOD Magazine has ever published. It attempts to explain the current public transportation crisis in the United States using the iconic subway map architecture as a model. The infographic is separated into 3 main sections: job losses, service cuts, and fare hikes. And instead of telling the viewer important information like how many jobs were lost or how much money was cut or how much fares rose, the infographic simply states that these events happened to various systems in the US. Big whoop. Of course they happened in the US, otherwise you wouldn’t be making a chart about it would you?
In the end, all this graph really tells you is how many people ride various transportation systems in the US (which honestly, I think could be handled better than using fat lines and skinny lines — especially if the numbers are already stated in numerical form).
Who approved this colorful mess?

Dust off those old set of wheels because the MTA just approved a fare increase to go into effect on May 31. The price for a single ride on the NYC Subway will soon be $2.50, up 50 cents from the $2 fare it currently sits at.
And don’t think you’ll be paying more for better service either. The MTA also plans to cut bus routes and Subway lines in order to prevent the MTA from going broke.
