Remember the Seal Line Urban Backpack that I reviewed last week? Well, Chrome just sent me a bag (along with some shoes) today that make the Urban Backpack look like a fanny pack.

Monica Almeida takes pictures from inside her car

Monica-Almeida-windshield

Check out this short essay by Monica Almeida about the joys, difficulties, and lessons learned from shooting out of a car window/windshield while driving on the West Coast. She compares the experience to street photography in an urban environment like New York City because it uses much of the same reflexes and instincts but in a much more widespread plain. If you travel in a car for a good part of your day, you may find Monica’s photos oddly familiar.

Robinsons Be Natural: a look inside a bird house

If birds lived lives like humans, this is how I imagine it would play out. This commercial was made by Rattling Stick.

Inside an electromechanical pinball machine

June 6, 2009 @ 3:34 am

WIRED caught up with an electromechanical pinball machine maker at Maker Faire 2009 and found out just how one of these old-school arcade pieces actually work and keep score. It’s a lot of technical information (I honestly don’t understand most of it), but it’s fascinating to see the inside of what I used to think was a fairly simple device. I would love to have a pinball machine in my own place in the future.

Don’t worry, it’s fake

Wow, New York City apparently wasn’t joking when they announced that they were doing an emergency drill at the PATH station at the World Trade Center. The picture above from Photo Journal shows a volunteer victim with a FAKE shard of glass in his head.

Freaky!

OUTrial House in Poland

April 22, 2009 @ 7:56 pm

Polish architects KWK Promes designed a house in Poland that hides most of itself from view by being almost entirely incorporated into the ground. The roof of the house is part of the grassy field that the house resides in and serves as an extension of the natural features of the area while also giving its inhabitants a place to call home.

My words can’t describe how wonderful this house looks so check out the pictures below for a better view.
