I already knew the Pentax K-x digital SLR was going to come in rainbow colors, but I had no idea that Pentax had in mind to release the K-x in the colors of Japan’s robot toy, Kore Ja Nai (I’m not even going to pretend I knew what Kore Ja Nai was before writing this post…apparently it’s a big thing in Japan).
I don’t speak or read Japanese, so if anybody wants to help translate the details of this video, please feel free to enlighten me in the comments.
Anyway, from what I gather, this is a music video by Alva Noto called “Unitxt u_08-1″ with the voice of Anne-James Chaton. The video was directed by Carsten Nicolai.
Not only is this a fantastic video of folks in Japan enjoying a ride on their fixed gear bikes, it’s also set to one of my favorite songs ever by The Strokes (the song is “You Only Live Once”). [via]
This is pretty neat. The magnetic field caused by the acceleration and braking of some commuter trains in Japan are apparently strong enough to go through the car and cause paperclips on the floor to stand on their ends. [via]
You know, it wasn’t enough that the Japanese built a life-sized 59-foot Gundam robot, they had to go ahead and make it actually move too! Check out this video of the head turning action on this giant tribute to one of the coolest things to ever come out of Japan.
