Drifters of the deep from Eugenia Loli-Queru on Vimeo.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium is back again with another magnificent video of sea creatures (previously, they shot a video of the fish with a transparent head). This time it features a bunch of different kind of jelly fish which normally tend to scare me a bit, but I can stand them here because I’m watching them through a monitor through a glass enclosing. Nice.

A new specifes of jellyfish has been discovered off the coast of Tasmania and one of its distinctive features is a rainbow glow that emanates from its cilia when light is reflected on it. The jellyfish is also incredibly fragile and “shatters” when it touches a net. Man, such a beautiful sea creature and you can’t even pet it!

Wow, this jellyfish really looks like an alien spaceship as it floats and sparkles in the pitch black sea. I wonder what a whole family (whatever the correct term is) of these jellyfish would look like.
