Just received a pair of Chrome Kursk shoes in the mail today and I am very well pleased with the result from Chrome’s most recent new product development (which I posted about previously).
The Chrome Kursk shoes are made from the same high-quality and durable canvas that just about every Chrome bag is made from and you get the feeling right away that these sneakers are well equipped to take on the roughness of a place like New York City. And because each shoe is made specifically with bicycle riders in mind, there are some features like the reflective patch on the heel and the tough rubber toe that should make bike riding more enjoyable and safe. The wonderful thing about these shoes is that they are incredibly rugged without adding much bulk (which is often quite annoying when you’re switching shoes regularly and having to adjust toe clips to a different shoe shape/width/or height. The Kursk shoes should fit just nicely into your toe clips.
In addition, I think it was a very nice design choice for Chrome to go with metal aglets at the end of the shoelaces. They add a small but important aesthetic feature that speaks of the level of detail put into each shoe. For $70, the Kursk is a comfy deal — both for your wallet and for your feet.
