Clever concept product from Guy And Brown. But honestly, I hope I’m never stuck in a situation where I need to bring my own lamp to a room whose outlets are so far away that I require the extension cord. I like as little clutter as possible.

For $185, you can purchase this neat light fixture made entirely out of paper clips. The lamp is made by Redesigned Technologies who make several other paper clip lamp designs worth checking out.

This is the Moonbird Lamp designed by Yukio Hashimoto for Japanese lighting manufacturer Yamagiwa. It’s such a beautiful and simple unit. Check out more pictures at Contemporist.

Carl Wooley has very nice nighttime photographs that are illuminated by street lamps. I envy his ability to see light in situations like the one above. Wow, so beautiful!
Also, I have a picture of this same brown/grey wall that’s shown in the image below. Kinda funny that I was able to pick it out. :)

With all the talk of failing LED bulbs and malfunctioning LED signals at New York City crosswalks, I wonder if these new proposed LED streetlamps will last as long as they say they will. They sure look awesome compared to the current ones lining most city streets, and I love the fact that they can be tweaked for different types of uses like street corners, mid-block, and city parks.
But most of all, I’m awaiting the day when New York City doesn’t appear orange-ish at night because these new LED lamps will make the city shine white!

It was nice walking around Times Square while the snow came falling down. It didn’t stick, but it still put a lot of happy faces out on the street. :)
More pictures to come later.
