I’m a sucker for statistics, charts, and graphs, so it’s no wonder that I’m a big fan of Last.fm. For the past 4 years, I’ve actively submitted my music listening habits to its service and over time, they’ve been able to offer me a great overview of my musical tastes.

Today marks 4 years to the day that I began submitting tracks and I’ve since listened to nearly 69,000 songs at my computer (countless more on my iPod).

My top artists overall are Coldplay, Relient K, and Jimmy Eat World. This is no surprise to me since I seem to have more mp3’s from these bands than any other band in my collection. And I love that for 4 years straight, my top song has been “Huddle Formation” by The Go! Team.

Last.fm: Best of 2008 in music

December 4, 2008 @ 2:12 am

The end of the year is coming up and websites all over are publishing their “best of 2008″ lists, and Last.fm has a pretty one going on their website. Their best of 2008 list is broken down into artists, albums, and tracks, and then they tally up all of the scrobbles that users have logged in over the past year to create this list.

If there’s a website that can get this right, it’s definitely Last.fm. Head on over there to see who topped the charts this past year.
