Online gallery of world paper money

November 3, 2009 @ 6:41 pm

CP came across a wonderful website gem today called Will’s Online World Paper Money Gallery. The site basically collects images of different world paper currencies and lists them in alphabetical order for your viewing pleasure. I’ve always believed that some of the greatest designs around us are in our money, and this website makes that clear. It’s going to take me a couple of days at least to go through each country on the list.

Wikipedia’s list of U.S. State dinosaurs

Thanks to JSTN, I now know that some states in the United States of America actually have official state dinosaurs. New York, unfortunately, does not declare a state dinosaur.

Also, if you have some free time, Wikipedia’s list for Lists of United States state insignia is quite interesting to go through. I didn’t know there were so many official state things.

Highlights from You’re My Favourite

In a couple of days, it will be a month since I first started posting photos at You’re My Favourite. For those who don’t know, You’re My Favourite is my photoblog where I dig into my personal archive of photos and showcase some of the images that have inspired me and helped me develop my photographic eye over the years. I believe I’ve been able to post at least one photo a day (if not more) since mid-May and so far the experience has been very satisfying.

Here are some highlights from the past week or so:

  • Portraits – This one is a rare gem. I love how the frames are all a bit crooked and how everything in the photo looks like it hasn’t been touched in years. Actually, that’s probably true.
  • Portland Airport
  • Avenue of the Americas
  • Spencer Street Station
  • Flatiron Building – It glows!
  • Caution – This is a photo of one of those scenes in real life that looked so weird at the time of passing that I just had to stop and capture the moment on film. This is truly deserving of the ‘favourite’ tag.

Finally, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all that have been keeping up with my postings over at You’re My Favourite. I appreciate the kind words and I’m glad some of you are enjoying the photos. :)

Yep, that’s the full list of experimental features available as of April 2009 in Gmail Labs. The list is getting long, with Google confirming 43 different features to choose from and no clear way to sort them or view them. Something needs to be done about this…

Seriously, who the hell is getting 8 DVDs at a time on Netflix? I’d like to meet you and ask why you do such a thing.
