Kevin Demaria, who has worked at Gourmet magazine for the last 8 years, published photos of the magazine’s last days to remember the food magazine and to somehow make sense of the poor state of the magazine industry — at least at Conde Nast (or so they say…). Simple yet beautiful photos.

The making of the GOOD 100 magazine cover

If you read GOOD magazine at all, you probably saw the wonderful papercraft cover they used for their first GOOD 100 issue.

The GOOD 100 issue includes 100 different ways you can get inspired, with lots of artwork from creative designers in the industry.
And to top it all off, GOOD has given everyone a look at how they created the cool magazine cover which was shot by Will Etling with model styling by Brian Rea.

Strange Light: a magazine of photos from Sydney’s dust storm

After the Sydney dust storm two weeks ago, Derek Powazek quickly contacted some of the photographers behind the amazing photos he was seeing and invited them to be a part of Strange Light, a MagCloud magazine that shows what people saw during Australia’s worst dust storm in over 70 years.

Strange Light is still available right now for just $6, a cheap price to pay for a tangible copy of so many marvelous photos.

Peter Belanger created this stop-motion video that shows just how much work goes into created a Macworld magazine cover. The video goes from shooting, to editing, and then to production and finally to the final product which is a print version of the magazine cover. [via]

This video just made me really miss working at a magazine.
