Just came back from an amazing concert with Mat Kearney and Diane Birch at Irving Plaza. Solid playing all around and a beautiful stage and light setup on the part of Mat Kearney’s crew.
During the concert, Mat jumped down from the stage and literally hung out for a minute or two with the crowd. He was hugging everyone and just having a good time with the people there. In addition, it was my first time ever seeing NY-native Diane Birch in concert and she certainly blew me away with her voice — soulful and elegant is how I would describe her singing style.

Lots of upcoming concerts in the NYC area. I can’t make it to all of them but the good ones — like Mat Kearney at Irving Plaza — are a must-see on my list!

I’ve been waiting so long for a new album from Mat Kearney and it’s finally here. I’m listening to it right now and I’m already loving it after just a few tracks into the album. Listen to it here and buy it when it comes out on May 19th!
I’ve sorta missed these as they were coming out, but Mat Kearney has been uploading videos onto YouTube to give fans a sneak peek at his upcoming album entitled City of Black and White. The sneak peek is so far split into two parts with the first part (above) giving some detail into the songs “All I Have”, “Fire and Rain”, and “Closer To Love”.
The second part (below) talks about the songs “Here We Go”, “Life Line”, and “City of Black and White”.
The album is called City Of Black And White and the first single is on sale over at Sony BMG. It’s been way too long since I’ve heard new music from Mat and I’m real excited to see what his sophomore album is like! Can’t wait!
