Shown here is the Rock Duffel Bag, just one of many items available for purchase in the Mooks online store which is now live. A small part of me wants to buy another pair of Dunlop Volleys right now because they ship to the US. Mmm…

Ever since giving up my bi-fold wallet for a slimmer Mooks money holder, I’ve been convinced that most people don’t really need such a thick wallet in their pockets or bags. That’s why I’m a big fan of these C.J. money clips from the property of. [via]

Made from cotton waxcloth with a leather trim, this wallet is only $55 and priced rather competitively for such a product. It comes in black, cement, and khaki, but I’m partial toward the khaki color. Yum! I want one (just in case my Mooks one ever breaks).

Mooks x Salad Design support local zoos

mooks

Salad Design sent me some images of their collaboration with Mooks to help support local zoos in Australia. Their limited edition Mooks T-shirts were packaged in traditional supermarket meat packs, complete with saran-wrap and a a slab of meat next to the Mooks logo.

It’s great to know that Mooks is still collaborating with local Australian artists to help out local venues, as that’s sorta how the company got started in the first place.

Disclosure: I used to work at Mooks.

My life in sneakers and shoes

sneakers-23

I just photographed all of the pairs of sneakers that I own on my hardwood floor and the result is somewhat mesmerizing. I realize now that I have enough pairs of footwear to last more than half a month without ever wearing a pair twice. If there’s one thing I don’t need any more of, it’s sneakers.

Photographed in total here are 22 pairs of sneakers and shoes consisting of the following brands:

  • PUMA
  • Adidas
  • ASICS
  • New Balance
  • Kenneth Cole
  • Dunlop Volleys/Mooks

I left several pairs out of this collection of photographs simply because I don’t really wear them. I decided to only photograph the shoes that I really wear on rotation.

I’ve included each image on its own page so you can comment on individual shoes if you want. So comment away. Tell me which ones you don’t like, tell me which ones you think are alright, and ask me things about each pair and I’ll try to answer them. Click inside to see ‘em!

Polaroid Plastic sunglasses

January 14, 2008 @ 7:40 pm

These Polaroid plastic sunglasses are pretty cool. I really don’t know the name of them, but their model number is MP39126BL.

If the Polaroid website was a bit more functional, I’d be able to tell you how expensive/cheap these are and also where to get them, but since the Polaroid website just plain sucks, I cannot do that for you at the moment.

I can however tell you that these similar vintage black plastic Polaroid sunglasses are $39.95 and that they sort of look like the glasses I’m wearing in this Great Ocean Road postcard.

Also, if the price is right, I may score myself a pair of Mooks + Polaroid sunglasses from the warehouse. I just need the model number, that’s all.

And what the heck, since we’re on the topic of sunglasses, I might as well make a note to myself to replace the orange lenses on my Oakley XX sunglasses because I scratched them while in Sydney/Whitsunday. They discontinued the lens colors, but I hope that they still have some stock when I get back to the US.
