I just photographed all of the pairs of sneakers that I own on my hardwood floor and the result is somewhat mesmerizing. I realize now that I have enough pairs of footwear to last more than half a month without ever wearing a pair twice. If there’s one thing I don’t need any more of, it’s sneakers.
Photographed in total here are 22 pairs of sneakers and shoes consisting of the following brands:
- PUMA
- Adidas
- ASICS
- New Balance
- Kenneth Cole
- Dunlop Volleys/Mooks
I left several pairs out of this collection of photographs simply because I don’t really wear them. I decided to only photograph the shoes that I really wear on rotation.
I’ve included each image on its own page so you can comment on individual shoes if you want. So comment away. Tell me which ones you don’t like, tell me which ones you think are alright, and ask me things about each pair and I’ll try to answer them. Click inside to see ‘em!

Dreams shattered: Those New Balance x DDC Lab collaborations that feature a sneaker almost completely covered in reflective material are limited edition and expensive. How expensive? Try $500 (actually $498).
Oh, and there’s only going to be 60 of them released. That’s so retarded. Those glass beads that make up the reflective material might as well be crystal at that price.

I’ve been eyeing this New Balance x DDC Lab sneaker collaboration for a while now and finally NiceKicks has some decent photos to show of the shoe.
Based on the classic New Balance 420 silhouette, the so-called “Reflective 420″ sneaker shown here is made of a material that has little, tiny pieces of glass beads that make it incredibly responsive to light. The material makes the shoe really scuff-resistant, dirt-repellent, and water-repellent.
As you may or may not know, I love just about anything that is made with reflective material and these shoes are no exception. Mixed in with the look of the 420, this is a winning combination in my book. I’d love to grab a pair of these when they come out. No word on how much they will be, but since they’ll be on sale at Barney’s, I’m assuming they’ll be a bit more expensive than the regular 420 sneaker. We’ll see. For now, check out some more photos here.
