While I’m really glad No Doubt is back on tour this summer, I think a larger part of me would really prefer to see them writing new songs rather than performing old ones. But I guess hearing old songs live isn’t a bad thing.

It’s been years since No Doubt put out new music, but at the end of last year the band confirmed that they were back in the studio and working on new material.
Well, here it is! The first single from their upcoming album is a cover of “Stand and Deliver” by Adam and the Ants.

No Doubt have updated their website with an iChat-like conversation that hints towards a new tour for 2009. The band members take turns in this chat saying how much fun it would be to play music with each other again, and by the end of the chat conversation, all of them agree that it would be great if they came together to do such a thing.
They also hint towards writing new songs and recording again which would be totally awesome since they were originally supposed to release an album in 2008 (which they didn’t).
