Ionz currently has this neat online poll where you tell the site what your online habits are and it constructs a little infographic out of it and then compares it to other people who have taken the same poll. Looks nice. Add yourself into the mix now. [via]

Mooks online store is open
June 19, 2009 @ 2:17 am

Shown here is the Rock Duffel Bag, just one of many items available for purchase in the Mooks online store which is now live. A small part of me wants to buy another pair of Dunlop Volleys right now because they ship to the US. Mmm…
Custom bikes from Mission Bicycles
May 16, 2009 @ 11:26 pm
I haven’t been actively looking for a new bike lately, but Mission Bicycles is making me want to go start looking again.
Similar to Republic Bike Shop which I’ve posted about previously, Mission Bicycles aims to create a custom bike experience with an online bike builder that allows you to choose components, colors, and other bike accessories at an affordable price point. In my opinion, the word affordable here is up to interpretation, but there’s no doubt that their bikes are great looking, especially since they come unbranded which I love. If I had to choose between Republic and Mission (as those are the two online shops that I know of that allow for bike customization like this), I would definitely go with Mission Bicycles as their component options seem more reputable.
If you’re in awe of these machines, check out Mission Bicycles’ Flickr photostream for more images of these simple and unbranded bikes. I built a bike and it didn’t actually come out to be “affordable”, but maybe one day I’ll save up enough to actually purchase one.
Note: If you’re on the Mission Bicycles website and putting a custom bike together, there seems to be a weird error that prevents the true price of the bike from showing up correctly. I’ve emailed them and I’ll see what the problem is and I’ll update you if I get an update. But for now, if you’re building a bike and the price keeps getting lower, just keep in mind that that may not end up being your final price.
Online catalog of Rembrandt’s paintings
February 19, 2009 @ 11:46 pm

Rembrandt van Rijn is one of my favorite painters of all time and I’m glad to know that the Universiteit van Amsterdam has put up an entire online catalog of all of his known life’s work.
Of course, Rembrandt’s collection of work is often confused and tarnished by imitators and emulators, some of whom were actual apprentices to Rembrandt in his own studio. The exact number is probably impossible to determine as Rembrandt himself sometimes left his work unsigned, but it’s good to know that there’s one place to turn to online that has all of his paintings available for viewing. This is what the internet was made for! :)
