Gizmodo has all 35 new Apple Snow Leopard desktop images for viewing. Apple actually includes several images of snow leopards in their next OS release along with some neat hi-res images of famous works of art.
Gizmodo’s gallery seems to be a bit wonky, so if you want to download the images in hi-res, you can do so here.

Google just introduced the Google Chrome OS, a new lightweight operating system built from the ground up (just like the Chrome browser) to work with today’s web landscape. Google says the Chrome OS will initially be targeted at netbooks being sold to consumers beginning in 2010 and that the source code for the operating system will be released and made public later this year.
Google says:
We hear a lot from our users and their message is clear — computers need to get better. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don’t want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. And any time our users have a better computing experience, Google benefits as well by having happier users who are more likely to spend time on the Internet.
If Google’s aim is to create an almost instant-on web experience, I’m all for it. When do they start implanting chips in my brain and cameras in my eye? I want to be first in line! :)
PS: Where is an official release of Google Chrome browser for Mac OS???

For those of us with an AT&T-branded BlackBerry Bold (9000), you’ll know how annoying it is that you cannot choose which network mode you want to be on. By default, the BlackBerry OS on the Bold is set to 3G which drastically reduces battery life because the Bold is constantly searching for the strongest 3G signal — even when the 3G signal is non-existent or just flat-out sucks.
But with the newest Bold OS update (4.6.0.282), you can now choose to be on 2G only which will help improve battery life if all you’re doing is BBMing where a fast network speed isn’t necessarily needed.
