Video of automatic pancaking sorting and stacking machine

ABB Robotics installed a pancake sorter at the Honeytop Specialty Foods company to improve manufacturing time and improve hygienic conditions and the machine is nothing short of extraordinary. Watch as the pancakes get sorted and stacked at incredible speeds. It kind of reminds me of those ice cream vending machines that suck up the individual packs of ice cream. [via]

Wow, file this one under “weirdest things I’ve seen on the internet”. Dan Lacey has produced several paintings of Barack Obama naked with unicorns. A naked Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama also make an appearance in some of the paintings (as does Lacey’s famous pancake paintings).

Wild Ammo reports that you can actually purchase these paintings as posters at Dan Lacey’s website, so if you’re into unicorns and nude Barack Obama paintings, then you’ve hit the jackpot here.

IHOP National Pancake Day: February 12, 2008!

Pancakes are just about the most delicious things in the world. And this Tuesday, IHOP (International House of Pancakes) is giving away a free stack of pancakes to every single person that considers donating to the Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities.

This event us known annually as “National Pancake Day“. It is usually held on Fat Tuesday but because of this year’s clash with Super Tuesday [elections], IHOP postponed the event for the following Tuesday. So this year, National Pancake Day is on Tuesday, February 12, 2008!

Known also as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, National Pancake Day dates back several centuries to when the English prepped for fasting during Lent. Strict rules prohibited the eating of all dairy products during Lent, so pancakes were made to use up the supply of eggs, milk, butter and other dairy products…hence the name Pancake Tuesday, or Shrove Tuesday.

In 2008, Fat Tuesday falls on February 5, which also happens to be Super Tuesday, on which a record number of states will hold their Presidential primaries. In the interest of embracing the democratic process, IHOP has postponed its celebration of National Pancake Day by one week, and will give away free pancakes on February 12.

Since beginning its National Pancake Day celebration in 2006, IHOP has raised nearly one million dollars to support charities in the communities in which it operates. With your help, we hope to raise $750,000 for Children’s Miracle Network in 2008!

Find an IHOP near you now and help IHOP reach its goal of raising $750,000 for charity. Then, when you’re done helping, go grab yourself a stack and fill yourself up on yummy pancakes!
