Behind the scenes at CXXVI

October 28, 2009 @ 2:48 am

Limited Hype has a nice little behind-the-scenes look at clothing and design company CXXVI (”OneTwentySix“) owned by Matt Gorton and Jon Contino.

You may remember that I posted something briefly about CXXVI earlier this month and now it’s cool to see what they’re all about and how they hand-make just about everything in their line.

Newspaper printing press

February 27, 2009 @ 2:09 am

Believe it or not, one of my dreams in life is to take a tour of a newspaper printing factory. I know, it sounds kinda boring, but I find the process very fascinating. Everything in those printing press factories moves so quickly and so precisely that I feel like I could literally stand and watch paper go by me for hours without end.

I know that The New York Times has a printing facility located in Queens but I have yet to get a chance to go there and see what it’s like. I hope to do that one day, but in the meantime, I guess this video above of the last press run for The Boston Herald will do.

Anybody reading Doobybrain work at a factory and want to give me a tour? Contact me if you do!
