For about $30 USD at Cliff Edge. Man, what kind of mark-up is that? Absolutely ridiculous.

Engadget just got word of at least two brand-new RED digital still and motion cameras, one of which is the EPIC-X modular camera. RED has posted several press photos of a prototype version called “Tattoo” that costs about $28,000.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend I know what I’m writing about when it comes to RED technology and gear. Simply put, I just don’t understand it. It flies way over my head in everything and I end up judging the company based on their product images (which I have to say are damn good). See the gallery below of the Tattoo and some optional gear you can mod the camera with.

After seeing this image above, I am so glad that my current job does not require me to work in the darkroom to tweak exposures on a photograph.
Don’t get me wrong, I really do enjoy working in the darkroom, but I think I’d sooner quit than start doing something like this IN THE DARKROOM for the amount of photos I process daily. Yeesh. I guess it just goes to show how awesome Richard Avedon is/was. [via]

Remember The North Face Base Camp Duffel that I posted earlier last year? Well, The North Face has taken the same rugged bag, reshaped it and added two shoulder straps to it to turn it into a backpack. The new creation is called Base Camp Master Cylinder and it’s only $99. At that price, you get an indestructible pack that hauls more than just your everyday load.
Also, due to the bag’s shape and features, you can access its contents via a top and side opening which is great for putting awkward-sized objects in.

This Fall/Winter, Timberland is selling this fabulous waterproof jacket shown above for $128. It features a waterproof nylon ripstop exterior with 2 mid-chest pockets with waterproof zippers. It also includes reflective details and a great red and black color scheme. I tried this baby on and it is fantastic. WANT WANT WANT.

The newly announced Pentax K-x comes in dashing red. Seriously. :O
I wonder how many of these red cameras Pentax hopes to sell.
