Crazy architecture for the Shanghai World Expo 2010

I thought World Expos were a thing of the past but apparently Shanghai is about to host one starting May 1, 2010 and many countries are being represented with some incredible pavilions to show off.

See that huge blurry blob in the image above? Yeah, that’s a BUILDING built to house the UK pavilion. It looks like that because it is partially built using many, many slender acrylic rods. That’s awesome and that blows my mind.

I have no idea how much it costs, but I can pretty much bet that it costs way more than it looks.
