The Nation hopes to confuse book buyers looking for Sarah Palin

October 22, 2009 @ 2:28 am

Looking forward to Sarah Palin’s book called Going Rogue: An American Life on November 17th? If you’re buying in stores, be sure that you’re actually buying the right book because The Nation is placing copies of a very similar looking title called Going Rouge: Sarah Palin, An American Nightmare on the same shelves in hopes that some clueless buyer will pick up the wrong book. The unofficial book from The Nation is filled with essays bashing the former Alaska Governor and also pictures Sarah Palin on the cover (but in this photo she is shown in front of lightning and cloudy skies). Alternative covers for Sarah Palin’s “Going Rogue” book

October 12, 2009 @ 6:06 pm

Sarah Palin’s book Going Rogue: An American Life isn’t getting released until November 17th, but already it is a best-seller on Amazon.com and many other book lists. It seems as though lots of people want to read about why Sarah Palin acts the way she does…(pretty sure you don’t need to read a book to figure out the answer).

Anyway, what’s kind of neat to see are the alternative book covers that photographer John Keatley took of Sarah Palin. Harper Collins eventually went with the off-in-the-distance stare, but it’s nice to know that they could have chosen the straight-into-camera stare, or the boring plain background portrait, or even the let-me-tilt-my-body-into-an-awkward-state pose. Yes, see them all below.

Sarah Palin’s resignation speech edited and corrected

palin-correction-speech

Vanity Fair did us all a favor and took Governor Sarah Palin’s resignation speech — complete with all of its run-ons and bad grammar — and had various editors correct it and mark it up. The result, as you can imagine, is colorful from beginning to end. Palin isn’t known to me the most eloquent person with her words and this corrected and edited resignation speech is proof that what she says normally really can’t (or shouldn’t) be understood.

I put the pages into a single PDF so you can avoid Vanity Fair’s pagination. So get the PDF here: Megaupload.

Sarah Palin interviewed as turkeys are slaughtered behind her

November 20, 2008 @ 11:02 pm

This is the weirdest setting for anybody to be interviewed at. Seriously, those turkeys are being drained of their blood as Sarah Palin just talks to the reporter for KTUU in Anchorage. [via]

Umm, HAPPY THANKSGIVING I guess!

Sarah Palin blames the media

November 6, 2008 @ 4:42 pm

She sounds very frantic, almost rushing to get everything out to the same media that she’s talking about. Kinda weird.

Ricky Gervais and Thandie Newton read the script to Nailin’ Paylin

October 31, 2008 @ 9:53 pm

If you haven’t heard, we have a rather decent looking female running as Vice President with John McCain. Her name is Sarah Palin and she’s from Alaska. She’s so hot that Hustler thought it was a good idea to make a porn based [very] loosely on her identity. The title of this tasteless porn? Nailin’ Paylin (note the change in spelling of her last name to avoid any legal ramifications).

Anyway, so the script to this awful film was leaked by TMZ and BBC’s Graham Norton asked his guests, Thandie and Ricky, to read the script out loud. The result is a hilarious show of bad script writing and incredibly funny characters. This video made me laugh so hard.
