Slovenian inventor Aleksander Polutnik has created what is essentially a one-wheeled Segway that he calls the Enicycle. [via]
The Enicycle uses a computer with gyroscopes that computes about 100 calculations per second to keep the rider balanced and upright. With a top speed of 10mph, it’s not something you would race with, but it certainly looks fun to ride! Currently, Aleksander Polutnik is trying to find a company to mass produce this one-wheeled vehicle. I hope it won’t break the bank!
GM and Segway have come together to bring us the prototype P.U.M.A. (Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility) vehicle which can go up to 35mph on a single 35-cent charge of its lithium-ion battery. The P.U.M.A. seats 2 people and includes seatbelts for both but no airbag and virtually no impact barrier between the vehicle and the outside elements.
And what’s with the lack of a boot or trunk space? Do people in the future just not carry anything with them at all wherever they go? I’m sorry, but this thing just isn’t cutting it for me.
