Alarm clock that shakes you out of bed

June 29, 2009 @ 11:28 am

This awesome alarm clock was one of the entries in 102.1 Edge’s World’s Biggest contest back in 2007. The alarm clock doesn’t really use any sound or loud noises, but instead it makes use of a large mounted air cylinder at the head of the bed and a valve controlled by a computer to literally shake somebody out of bed. Here’s one more video of the bed at the 102.1 Edge studios. I wonder what the chance of whiplash is…

Slow motion video of dogs shaking off water

December 12, 2008 @ 9:07 pm

I’ve previously posted about Time Warp’s slow-motion video on how dogs drink water, and now here’s Time Warp’s segment on how different dogs shake off water. Like everything from Time Warp, the videos are shot in slow-motion and show how different species of dogs do their body shake differently.

The thing that pisses me off though is that Discovery Channel/Time Warp did not upload the video in HD or even in high quality. With YouTube’s new and bigger video page, this video looks like absolute rubbish. C’mon Discovery! Do your viewers a favor and get with the times.

Correction: George W. Bush shook everybody’s hand

November 22, 2008 @ 4:40 pm

It turns out that Rick Sanchez took things a bit out of context when he reported that nobody at the G20 Summit wanted to shake George Bush’s hand.

Quite the contrary, actually. President Bush indeed shook hands with everybody that day (twice in fact!) and didn’t find it necessary to re-greet each dignitary as they went up on stage for a photo. The reason why everybody else is shaking hands in the video is because they had not greeted each other yet that day.

President Bush is just way ahead of the rest of them when it comes to meet and greets. That’s all.
