Amazon.com now has a dedicated wireless store in beta that makes shopping for a new wireless phone and plan as simple as ever. The site breaks the plans and/or phones by carrier, features, price, color, or brand. Plus, with Amazon.com’s great deals on mobile devices (with a new contract), this might be the cheapest place you can purchase a new phone.

Time Magazine has a photo slideshow of Brian Ulrich’s images that show just how bad things are getting in America’s retail landscape. Empty store shelves, closed store outlets, and empty parking lots are just the beginning…

Best Ford Fiesta review ever

December 12, 2008 @ 1:34 am

Funko is sharing this Top Gear review of the Ford Fiesta (a car we do not have in the US) that takes the idea of a proper Q&A session quite literally. Questions are flashed on the screen and then followed up by road tests that go about answering that question.

Things like whether or not you can outrun a Corvette inside a shopping mall are answered by, well, showing the Fiesta chased inside a shopping mall by a Corvette! And should you ever find yourself in a situation where you are needed with the Fiesta to help the Royal Marines, you’ll be happy to know that not only can the Fiesta hold up, but smoke grenades fit perfectly in the cup holders as well!

All in all, a great video review of the Ford Fiesta and definitely the most thorough test of any car I’ve ever seen.

No real reason to hit the malls on Black Friday

November 25, 2008 @ 11:14 am

CBS talks to Tod Marks of Consumer Reports and he says that there’s really no reason to rush to the stores after Thanksgiving to get a great deal on electronics. He says that overall, sales have been ongoing for some time now to entice people to just buy anything because the US economy is in such crap.

He does say however that if you’re shopping for cheap clothes on Black Friday, it might be worth it to go to the stores because they have limited inventory due to the fact that retailers simply didn’t put in big orders because they know people aren’t necessarily shopping as much as they normally do this time around.

But for electronics, you might be better off waiting because prices are expected to drop even further after Black Friday.

In my opinion, your best bet is to skip the stores altogether and just shop online. Cheaper, faster, and you can do it in your underwear.

Facial Flex on QVC shopping network

Here is the ultimate gift for inducing times of awkwardness, or for that “friend” that you actually hate. It’s the Facial Flex, sold at some point in time through QVC shopping channel. The Facial Flex is a small contraption that you put into your mouth to exercise the muscles in your face, neck, and chest.

The device is basically a mini thigh master for your mouth. Yeah, that’s right. A THIGH MASTER FOR YOUR MOUTH. Some genius decided to shrink the proper thigh master and put it into hundreds of mouths nationwide.

Peep the video below to see how it all works.

“Now, if your New Year resolutions include working out, why aren’t you working out your face? Why aren’t you working out your face? WHY AREN’T YOU WORKING OUT YOUR FACE?!”

DO NOT WANT.
