Titaium Intelligent Design Mouse

October 24, 2009 @ 1:25 am

This is the Titanium ID Mouse from Intelligent Design. It’s a Bluetooth mouse made from grade 1 hand-formed titanium with laser tracking precision. The mouse is pretty much all for looks as it serves purely as a basic functioning mouse with only 3-buttons (most mice these days come with more than 3 buttons). It runs on 2 AAA batteries and is compatible with PC and Mac systems.

Oh, and maybe I’m not reading this right or something, but can somebody else please confirm that the website lists this mouse as selling for 800 Euros??!! That’s about $1200 USD. Yeah. Well, given that price point, I’m just going to go ahead and assume that you’re never going to buy one, so enjoy the photos below.

Re-vive Table Legs turn any flat surface into a table

October 23, 2009 @ 12:51 am

Branch is selling this set of Re-vive Table Legs that are essentially large modified clamps that extend to help prop up any flat surface. By using these 4 Re-vive Table Legs, one can essentially turn any flat surface into a table of varying height with relative ease. This is pretty awesome and I want a set so I can start turning flat objects into tables left and right. Only $178. [via]

Hole-In-One knife by Tom Hitchcock

October 22, 2009 @ 12:31 am

Here is industrial designer Tom Hitchcock’s Hole-In-One knife available now at Columbia River Knife & Tool. Tom’s intent when designing this knife was to create an effective yet simple tool that is easy to clean, maintain, and safe to use. The perimeter of this knife is a single piece of stainless steel and it can be used in any situation from cooking to opening packages.

Looks nice, eh?

Using the desktop as a temporary dump space

October 12, 2009 @ 9:32 pm

I’ve been reading a few things about maximizing productivity while using a computer and one of the more simple and useful tricks I’ve learned is to use the desktop as a daily temporary dump space. This means that at the end of the day (or session), I try my hardest to get rid of everything on my desktop except for my Time Machine, My HDD, and an extra folder I’ve designated to sit on my desktop called “TO MOVE”.

This forces me to actually make good use of the folders already in place on my computer that are there to help me keep my digital files organized. It seems trivial, but believe it or not, this single tip is by far the most important workflow tool I’ve gained in the past couple of years. Plus, it’s nice to close my windows at the end of the day and not be bombarded by an overflow of unorganized icons.
