I was actually looking for a decent-sized image of the Sony Walkman TPS-L2 and I’m glad Scott found a photo of it. Retro and beautiful. That color scheme is poppin’!

Edge has an interesting graphical look at the evolution of the creation of the Sony PlayStation logo.
The Edge article actually talks a lot more about the creation of Sony’s game console itself rather than just the logo, so if you care to read about the feud between Nintendo and Sony and the politics that caused Sony to create the PlayStation, then do so here.

I think all projectors should at least look as decent as this. I really don’t like it when projector cooling outlets are on the side. Of course, I have no idea what the other side of this projector looks like — the exhaust could very well just be on the other side of the unit — but I’m going to assume that it’s at the back where it should be.

Nike Skateboarding in Brazil is coming out with these limited edition Cezar Gordo SB Dunk Low’s. They feature a see-through sole and a Sony Walkman-inspired headphone cord tangled all around the shoe. The shoe is a great combination of navy blue, grey, and yellow and only 480 will be made.
Unless you know somebody in Brazil, it looks like it’ll be real hard for you to get these as they’re only going to be sold in Cezar’s hometown of Brazil. Check out a video of Cezar Gordo skating below.
Mmm, these are delicious! I want a pair.

Sony Ericsson just announced the XPERIA X1, a beautiful arc-slider smartphone with heaps of features.
From the press release:
The XPERIA X1 combines a 3-inch clear wide VGA display and a full QWERTY keyboard within a quality metal-finish body. With Windows Mobile® inside, the XPERIA™ X1 lets you choose from a dynamic range of activities at anytime and anywhere; from enjoying your favourite entertainment content to working efficiently on-the-move. Access a world of experiences simply by touching the XPERIA™ panel on the screen.
The goal of the XPERIA X1 is to have all of your multimedia capabilities (video, music, phone, contacts, email, internet, etc.) in one device that’s small enough to carry with you at all times.
Now that the need to be fully-connected at all times is increasing, the XPERIA X1 looks like a solid player among only a handful of good choices.
Here are some specs to dwell on:
And with all of that comes the usual phone features you’d expect in any smartphone nowadays.
The unit is available beginning the second half of 2008 in silver and black. If I had to choose, I’d get the XPERIA X1 over a Nokia N810.

The image above is made to illustrate the hi-res nature of the press images that Sony Ericsson has released to the public. This is a 100% crop of the area marked in red.
Trust me, the SUPER HI-RES images are more exciting, but if you don’t have the bandwidth, you can view smaller images inside.
