So I’m sitting at my desk today listening to my music when James suddenly sends me a link to the Sound Bulb, a concept entertainment device developed by Darko Miladinovic, Irena Gantar, and Luka Pirnat from Slovenia. The Sound Bulb is a wireless device that uses a transmitter to make music come out of your light socket. The bulb portion of the device is half lightbulb and half speaker. The thread is a E26/E27 Edison thread which makes this device compatible with most common light sockets.
The one thing I love about this concept is that it is virtually indistinguishable from a standard lightbulb. It takes no extra room on your desktop or environment and it makes use of LED technology to keep heat and electricity at a minimum. I don’t imagine this device to ever be in very high demand (if it were ever put into production), but I can imagine this thing put to good use as an office prank.
