I won’t lie. I would love to eat this spam musubi right now. It’s one of the few things on TIWYF that I would actually touch and consume.

If you follow me on Twitter you probably already saw this link. But after some thought, I figured I’d share with the rest of you luddites what it means to be addicted to nothing.

Elliott Burford illustrates spam titles. They’re funny and totally not what you would expect. [via]

Back in August, I wrote about the funny advertising and promotional videos (and websites) for a new book about SPAM luncheon meat called “The Book of SPAM“.
To honor the book’s publishing date, one SPAM fan even decided to blog about what it was like to eat SPAM meat every day for 30 days straight (by the end of the month, that fan had SPAM withdrawal…).
To further push the book out the door and into people’s hands, the authors, Dan Armstrong and Dustin Black, decided to tell a quick history of SPAM using its closest friend — TOAST. They call it toastvertising. Watch the video below.
If you think that’s pretty sweet, check out the video below of how the entire toastvertising campaign was put together. Man, lots of work! The video reminds me of Paper Darren (from Mute Math) and Process Enacted by RIT student Jordan C. Greenhalgh.
Check out The Book of SPAM blog for more updated info. Also, if you want the book, you can get it on Amazon.com for $16.
Thanks Steph!
New Akismet comes with stats viewer

Neat! If you’ve upgraded to the latest version of Akismet on your Wordpress blog, you’ll now see a new “Akismet Stats” link under your Dashboard. It makes visualizing your daily comment spam almost exciting and it shows a bunch of stuff you probably never cared about before, like how much “ham” (false positives, basically) you get and how much actual spam has slipped through the detectors.
Oh, and there’s a “yummy pie” to see too. I like it!
